Celebrities are just like us! Noah Kahan took to X this week to share that he’s been loving the content of viral pygmy hippo Moo Deng that’s been circulating the Internet recently.
“I’m late to whatever these creatures are but I enjoy them so far,” he shared in response to an edit of his Stick Season album art, in which his beloved dog Penny is replaced by Moo Deng herself. “Moo Deng Season,” the meme is captioned.
The baby, two-month-old pygmy hippopotamus in a Thailand zoo quickly become a viral sensation over the past few months after the zoo’s social media accounts began posting videos of her.
Kahan is having a similarly great year to Moo Deng. The Grammy-nominated singer brought his We’ll All Be Here Together Tour to Madison Square Garden and Boston’s Fenway Park earlier this summer. Kahan was also giving back throughout the trek, as his mental health initiative, The Busyhead Project, was present throughout the tour.
“In my own life and career, I feel like things have continued to build for me in small ways, and I want to make sure that my passion for talking about mental health and raising money for it is following the growth of like, my venue capacity, and my staff,” he told Billboard back in May. “I’m a big believer in striking while the iron is hot — if you see my tour schedule, you understand that — but along with that is taking moments where there is momentum and visibility, and doing as much good as possible.”
