Lady Gaga very well may have earned herself a noise complaint during a recent hotel stay, during which she performed a snippet of intense choreography to her new single “Disease.”
In a video posted Thursday, the pop star leaves her hotel room and tiptoes into the hallway before suddenly tossing her belongings to the floor, running to the other side off the path and throwing herself against the wall. After some heavy head-banging, she hops forward with thrusting motions toward the camera — a re-creation of the same choreography featured in her “Disease” music video.
“When you need a girls night out in the middle of the week,” she captioned the clip.
Gaga’s latest track arrived in October, followed shortly by its chaotic choreography-filled music video. “Disease is about facing that fear, facing myself and my inner darkness, and realizing that sometimes I can’t win or escape the parts of myself that scare me,” the 13-time Grammy winner wrote of the visual when it dropped. “That I can try and run from them but they are still part of me and I can run and run but eventually I’ll meet that part of myself again, even if only for a moment.”
Debuting at No. 27 on the Billboard Hot 100, “Disease” will serve as the lead single of Gaga’s seventh studio album, which is expected to arrive in February. It’ll follow September’s Harlequin, a companion album the star released for Joker: Folie à Deux.
On Friday (Nov. 15), Gaga shared another TikTok video using “Disease,” this time taking part in a trend that begins with users asking, “Have we eaten today?”
In Gaga’s version, she starts out the video dressed down, not yet on the other side of hair and makeup. “No, I think we should eat,” she answers herself in the clip before it cuts to her walking in slow-motion, modeling an edgy outfit and glamorous eyeshadow.
